"The name of the company is Closet Elite and it is essentially to women what tux rentals have been to men," Closet Elite owner and FSU senior Sakina Walsh said. "It is an online service that rents top designer dresses for special occasions at a fraction of the cost." Not only does Closet Elite help solve the problem of finding the perfect dress, but it also has expensive dresses available for cheap prices. Closet Elite carries only the top designers such as Versace, Prada, Betsey Johnson and Marciano at rental prices ranging from $30 to $150. "Women know they only get to wear a special occasion dress a couple times, yet these events are the ones where they typically need to dress to impress and they want to look their best," Walsh said. Customers find a dress on the Web site and place the order online. After receiving and painting the town red in the dress, it can be slipped into the prepaid, pre-addressed mailer and dropped off at any DHL location. "Closet Elite is the first company of its kind, and while it currently has a local emphasis, it is a nationwide service," Walsh said. The Web site is available at www.closetelite.com. Celebrities have been borrowing dresses and gowns from designers for ages. It's about time the commoners caught on.
