It has been learnt that during medieval period the physicians would advise their patients to intake human heart to enhance their strength and their sports regime. The physicians at that time thought that to strengthen the sports persons muscles the intake of human heart and the pituitary glands were very helpful.


Even during the period of as long back as 300 BC mushroom was the most important diet of an athlete. The athletes participating in the Olympics then would intake mushroom in huge amount. The athletes who participated in swimming would take huge amount of caffeine as believed it would strengthen their muscle and help them improve their stamina. Again during the 1800's the Belgian athletes used to rely on eating sugar cubes dipped in ether as they believed it would help them to gain strength and give them agility. Whereas runners during that period would intake more of cactus as it was considered to be their Gatorade.


Today these sports supplements and the intake of food are in very common use as it helps to enhance the physical strength and agility of the athletes. Again it is not only athletes but anyone who wants to lead a healthy and long life uses these supplements and is available very easily. There are many products like vitamin supplement, sports drink, herbs to cure your ailments as well as supplement to help you loose weight are all available easily in the supermarkets, pharmacies, health food stores and even online. There are more than 40 percent people all around the world who consume these supplements on a regular basis.


These supplements are a part of daily life for athletes all around the world. They train and sustain themselves with the help of these bodybuilding supplements. They have infact been using these nutrients to such an extent that it has become their staple diet. These nutrients not just help them to strengthen their muscle and improve their agility but also help them to avoid any injury. Though there are many options available like herbs and protein shakes the most commonly used is mineral and vitamins.
