Know what causes anxiety disorder? Find out now!

Worries have always been part and parcel of our everyday life due to different factors inherent in the environment in which we live. Different people are affected by worries that are so distinctive and dissimilar that some may only be temporarily affected, however leaving some permanently disturbed. The stigma of constant worrying in the lives of these people can itself developed into a medical condition known as anxiety disorder.

Anxiety disorder, being a kind of mental disorder can be disturbing and if ignored or left untreated, can potentially lead to physical and psychological complications. The disorder arises when the person anticipates disaster or impending danger, the body and its organs such as lungs, hearts and other parts will react faster due to production of adrenaline and hormone that provoke an increased level of stress and tension.

This in turn can trigger abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, dry mouth, rapid heartbeat, palpitations, tightness and pain in the chest region, shortness of breath, dizziness, frequent urination and even difficulty swallowing. These are just the physical effects that anxiety disorders produce.

The psychological anxiety symptoms on the other hand include insomnia, irritability, anger, the inability to concentrate on various day to day tasks, a fear of madness, a fear of losing your mind and mental faculties, as well as the sense of being detached from reality and not having the ability to control your actions.

Besides the anxiety symptoms you may experience emotional symptoms too. You will feel a constant feeling of unease that has nothing to do with your present situation. You might experience anxiety due to being involved in a stressful situation like pressure at work or a relationship. Then your anxiety symptoms may rear their heads due to being anxious about an illness, real or imagined. Then there is always your bodys reaction to perceived dangerous threats. All of these emotional stresses can and will increase your anxiety symptoms dramatically.

As a precautionary step, you are encouraged to seek consultation with your doctor to diagnose when you experience prolonged anxiety to determine the condition of your complaint or problem. Your doctor will be able to systematically screen and identify whether the condition pertains to a mental health problem. Should your condition be recognized as an anxiety disorder, appropriate treatment and help needs to be obtained to overcome and control the symptoms.

Similar to many mental illnesses, anxiety disorder is more than the mere presence of anxiety, but the severity of anxiety spilling over other areas of life and affecting the way of life and activities. If excessive anxiety or prolonged emotional turmoil is stimulated with little or nothing dangerous or threatening to bring the body into the fight/flight situation, then it is highly likely that the condition be regarded as symptoms of an anxiety disorder.

Although you might suspect yourself to be suffering from anxiety symptoms its always a good idea to get your self-diagnosis confirmed by a qualified medical practitioner who can then start you on the proper course to cure you.
