    Reduce stress in 7.5 easy steps.

    I have read that stress is a silent killer.

    You probably think that reducing stress is not a reality in
    this day and age of emails, instant messaging, downsizing at
    work, taking care of family etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If you're like me, you probably spend quite a few hours in
    front of the computer.
    Tip #1
    Get up and move every 30 minuets and take a deep breath.
    Look away from your computer screen frequently.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    No matter what's going on in your day...

    Tip #2

    Take a 15 minute break in the afternoon. Take a short walk or
    just go outside.

    Maybe take a mental vacation where you just go back and
    remember something special, fun or exciting that has
    happened to you.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    On the way home from work or even on the way to work listen
    to special music for relaxing and de-stressing.
    Tip #3
    You can find CD's at any of the major book stores and of
    course at amazon.com. The one I use is "Music for The Mozart
    Effect" Vol 2 "Heal the Body: Music for Rest and Relaxation"
    Make sure you read the labels regarding use because some
    do say not to use while driving or using equipment.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    One of my mentors told me that he has symbols of all the
    things he loves around him is his office.

    Tip #4

    Have pictures, figurines of the things that please you. Your
    family, pet, favorite vacation, anything that will make you
    smile!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Now for the dreaded word...exercise.
    Tip #5
    Do something for yourself everyday, be it yoga, jogging, a
    walk, biking or a swim. It doesn't have to be long but at
    least 30 minutes.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Venting is great for the soul.

    Tip #6

    Have someone that you can talk to about your day.
    (Or rather rant and rage about).

    Do have a mutual exchange.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I had a test done recently which used by DNA to customize
    my nutritional and lifestyle personal plan. They even made
    customized packets labeled for morning and evening. They
    even have my name on them. This leads me to the next tip.
    Tip #7
    Stress uses up a huge amount of vitamin A, B, C, E, calcium
    and other minerals. Even your stomach is affected and can't
    process protein.
    So the answer is to eat healthy (yeah right).
    So the next alternative is to take supplements, vitamins and
    minerals.
    Which ones and how much? Call me about the test I
    took.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I am a control freak. This is not a good thing. But I have
    great news!

    Tip .5

    Make a mantra for yourself for when things are not going
    like you want them to. Remember that you are the only one
    that you can control.

    One mantra I use is the famous "Serenity Prayer".

    Use lyrics from songs that can pull you through.

    Also give meditation a try. When one of my mentors was
    having a rough time he called on his mentor (who is a very
    famous person) to help him.

    His mentors only reply "meditate".

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    These few tips I've shared with you are 7.5 of many - but the
    ones I find most effective. Don't take my word for it. Test
    them yourself first. See if they work for you like they
    worked for me.
    So in review. Get away from the computer often during the
    day. Take an afternoon break. Listen to special music,
    have your favorite things around you. Do some light exercise,
    vent, eat well/or take supplements, have a mantra.
    Quote
    "Stress is one of the most powerful, and most insidious
    factors that can hurt your immune system".
