Most Drug Rehab Programs dont work because their curriculum and format are weak and ineffective. The program is missing the necessary energy and knowledge that is required to help people overcome addictions. A drug addicts cells are loaded with each drugs DNA signature. The addicted becomes completely addicted: physically, emotionally and spiritually. Every individual has a physical and the ego self (mental, emotional, spiritual). At birth theres a never-ending struggle between carnality and its wants. Those who have a weak ego have low self-mastery. Its very easy for them to give into the addictions of the flesh. They spend their life chasing after their addictions and end up in the swamp of hopelessness and depression. They become a slave to their drugs. To be able to break away from the chains forged one at a time by their bad decisions, requires an infusion of light and hope into the ego self. Leaving the darkness of their self-imposed prison requires outside strength and encouragement. As long as their ego remains feeble, lost, confused and deceived, sobriety will never be obtained. Desire and self-awareness are the 1st steps toward sobriety. Denial and pride are huge barriers that restrain the addicted imprisoned. Becoming humble and having a willingness to abstain from your drug requires extraordinary power that many cannot summon up, especially all alone. The single most effective counseling tool that can help people come out of their self made prison is cognitive restructuring. Cognitive restructuring helps the addicted conquer their thinking errors and self destructive behaviors. This first step must be taken in order for the last to ever be achieved.
