Previously I thought aromatherapy was just a nice smelling essential oil thing that treats psychosomatic conditions rather than more obvious conditions, how wrong I was! It wasn’t until recently after suffering from RSI, which is never good, that my opinion changed.
Motivated by the obvious pain associated with RSI I tried anti inflammatories, wrist supports and resting as most good doctors recommend. But as advised, as soon as I started using my computer again (which for my profession is a necessity) it would come back within a few days.
While feeling slightly sorry for myself, a good nurse friend of mine suggested that I try some of her ‘special aromatherapy mixtures’, about which I was initially pretty sceptical but I agreed out of politeness (very English indeed).
To my surprise the various properties of the oils working together relieved the pain and swelling far better than anti inflamitories and pain killers on their own. My hands and fingers as you can read here are again tapping the keys with lustre. The only side effect really was that I smelt slightly more fragrant than normal.
