Love your body with all your heart , and you will live a long life. It's that simple. If you truly loved yourself, you would eat only healthy foods and nourish your body with fresh air and exercise. But for some reason many of us are stuck in bad habit mode and take advantage of momentary pleasures - risking our health over the long term. Some of this habit is due to ignorance and some is due to lack of motivation. If we only new what bad habits, like smoking and saturated fats do to us after ingesting them over 20 years. If only we could see our future living healthy and then contrast that same future with living unhealthy. Unfortunately we can't see the future, but we can determine from medical professionals and our elders the difference between healthy and not healthy. If we took the perspective of loving ourselves, which makes god sense, then we could apply what that means. It means, eating what our bodies need and what is good for our bodies. Yes, nutrient rich meals over processed, fatty, sugar-based meals. It also means if we are lazy due to lack of energy, instead of slouching onto the couch to watch TV, we should recognize that our bodies need rejuvenation and some exercise. Which means rest and some training to feed our lungs and muscles with oxygen and toning - so we aren't so lethargic tomorrow. Monitoring our bodies and becoming aware of how we treat our bodies, is loving ourselves. Try a week of loving your body and see how it responds. There are short term gains and very important long term benefits to this kind of love.
