Throughout history, men and women alike have been fascinated by large penises. A large penis has always been a symbol of power and health. The ancient people believed in the magical powers of large penises. For instance, cave drawings that date back to 440 BC depict immense penises that act as guardians to the surrounding settlements. Huge penises were also considered key features of gods and people that possessed magical powers. Consequently, men have always tried to enlarge their penises using different procedures, many of which very dangerous and extreme. Different cultures developed their own penis enlarger devices and methods. One of the mot extreme penis extender methods was developed by ancient Polynesians. The penis enlarger technique used by them consisted in hanging weights to their penises when they were young and keep them on until they were adults. The results of this penis enlargement technique were not the ones expected, as it led to impotence and deformation of the penis. Another method wide-used in ancient times for penis enlargement was jelquing. This method seems to have originated in tribal Africa or in the Arabic countries. Jelquing consists of increasing the blood pressure in the penis by doing a ‘milking’-like movement with the thumb and index finger wrapped around a semi-erect penis. This method is still used today, despite warnings from doctors and other medical professionals. Jelquing can cause irritation of the skin, scars and even impotence. The real breakthrough in penis enlargement came in 1913, when the Austrian doctor Otto Ledever invented the first penis enlarger. The first penis extender was actually a specially designed vacuum pump. The person using this penis enlarger had to insert his penis into a cylinder and then extract the air out from that cylinder using a vacuum pump. The inventor of this device claimed that his penis extender was able to engorge the tissues in the penis, which eventually leads to an increase in the size of the penis. Despite the extensive history of penis enlargement, modern society has looked down on people with these sorts of problems until recently. In the last decade, the penis enlargement options have diversified very much due to advances in science and technology. Men that have problems with their penis size now have many options to choose from: a great variety of penis enlargers, pills, special exercises, herbal medicines and even surgery. However, penis extenders seem to be the only safe and certain way to enlarge your penis, besides surgery. A modern penis enlarger also has other uses than enlarging the penis. For instance, Peyronie’s disease can be cured in many cases by using a quality penis extender.
