IS THIS LEGAL?
This is 100% legal. All you have to do is contact your local alcohol, tobacco, and firearms bureau and get a permit. They will get you up to speed on your local, state, and federal laws on making your own fuel. It is not legal to use your still to make liquors for drinking. But it is absolutely legal use a still to make fuel.
CAN I DRINK IT?
No. The reason for this is that the alcohol produced in this still has a very high proof. The proof is so high that it is beyond what a human can safely consume. The higher the proof, the more efficient your car will run. Also, it is illegal to use the alcohol made from this still for drinking. E85 ethanol is required to have an additive put in it to make it smell bad, and taste terrible.
This is to discourage people from trying to drink it because if taken internally, serious injury or even death may occur. Another reason it's not for drinking is that the finished fuel contains certain contaminates that are also harmful if taken internally.

HOW MUCH WILL I SAVE?

Because ethanol is more efficient, it cleans as it goes. Because of this you may have to change your fuel filter more often. So if you count that as a negative, to each his own. I count it as a positive because I know my car is running cleaner inside, and therefore more efficient.
