Fit Baby - Pregnancy Pregnant

Having a fit baby starts with a fit mother. Many women enjoy a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise and a good diet. It can be tough to maintain that lifestyle when she becomes pregnant, especially during the later stages. But it is possible, and in fact preferable, to maintain an exercise regiment at least up until the last month. This exercise regiment will pay off with a fit baby. Here are a few activities that you could do while pregnant. Remember to consult you doctor before starting any of these activities.

Swimming during pregnancy

Swimming is a stimulating and relaxing exercise that has outweighing benefit for non-pregnancy women and especially a pregnant woman. Swimming is great exercise because it uses both large muscle groups (arms and legs). Though low-impact, it provides good cardiovascular benefits and allows expectant women to feel weightless despite the extra pounds added by pregnancy. Swimming also poses a low risk exposure to your baby.

Safety first when swimming

Even though swimming poses a very low risk of injury it is always safe to see you physician first before you start any swimming exercise. If you doctor give you a clean bill of health then start slow if swimming is not a regular exercise that you regularly partake. If swimming was a regular activity then you should not have to alter your routine in any way. Just be careful.

Biking while pregnancy

Generally, biking while pregnant is not a problem? However, you fall into a risk category--say, you are carrying more than one child or have high blood pressure, diabetes, or some other complication--your doctor may give you specific exercise guidelines. Some high-risk women will be advised against exercising at all. But if you are not in the high-risk category then once again start slow, even if you are a regular biker. Remember, it not just you cycling anymore. Pay close attention to how you feel. If you start to feel exhausted and dehydrated cease cycling. The Melpomene Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota, which studies physical activity and women's health, suggests avoiding a breathless pace. One more thing, if you think you will crash while riding, don’t even try this activity. Crashing is not an option. Crashing could be detrimental to your fit baby.

Yoga during pregnancy

Yoga is easily the most adaptable fit pregnancy exercise catered to the needs of women, both during and after pregnancy. The gentle exercises can put you in tune with your changing body, and ease you back into fitness after the baby is born. Yoga is considerable great for teaching breathing exercises that decrease stress and increases flexibility in preparation for birth. By using, stretching and cultivating the muscles for birth, you inherently make birth easier. Not to mention the glorious relaxation skills that you can bring to your birth after the months of practicing.

Exercising is very important for a fit baby and has overwhelming advantages for the baby during your 9-month pregnancy. Work hard and keep that circulation going. Add the exercise benefits to your life as well as your baby.
