The most attractive thing in Las Vegas is undoubtedly money. There is an expression that money attract money, and it is really so. Every person with it is welcomed here and the more money you have, the more hospitable welcome you get. Many people, usually men, become incontrollable gamblers in Las Vegas. They begin to compete with each other and they feel a hunger to win. In fact, that is not very important how much money every gambler actually has. The most important aim for casino is to attract people inside, to force them waste the money right and left without stopping.
Everybody in casino`s staff is a good psychologist and when they notice that client begins to lose a big amount of money, they try to calm and unnerve the client by giving the gambler what they called “a comp”. It can be a delicious dinner, comfortable hotel room, free drinking or free tickets to a show. Of course, it is quite venturesome to spend a big amount of money for every client, but casino will never be the loser.
Gamblers also know about the risk they are taking. A small amount of players wins, but every gambler in Las Vegas hopes to win the big “jackpot” and to get all the money. While sitting at the Blackjack table or at the slot machine, the adrenaline in the organism rises and the gambler loses the self-control. When the gamblers hear the noise of coins being paid out be the slot machines, the excitement rises more and more. But the majority of gamblers leave the casino despairingly and without money.
The casinos resort to more other devices, such as absence of windows and clocks on the walls. These tricks are used to create an illusion of lack of the time. The aim is to compel the gamblers to forget about time and to spend their money in the casino.
