The return of the 1975 original musical "A Chorus Line" has made it's return to the heart of Broadway, being both anticipated and unexpected. The original production enjoyed a 15 year run winning a ton of awards including the Pulitzer Prize for Best Musical, as well as, the Tony Award for the same category. Many members of the original 1975 show will be returning such as the Director Bob Avian who was Michael Bennet (The creator) assistant and co-choreographer (which he won a Tony for). Other returning members include, choreographer Baayork Lee (Original Cast Member) and designers Robin Wagner, Theoni V. Aldredge and Tharon Musser. The Broadway Revival will tell the same inspiring story of 17 dancers who are about to enter into the journey to chase their dreams, during the long process of auditioning for an unnamed Broadway musical. All of the hard work, sweat and tears these men and women now embark on the chance to finally make it on Broadway and continue to fight for what they want. The story deepens when Zach asks each member to enlighten him with the story of their lives and journey to where and why they have come. Only 8 will be chosen for the final chance to dance the Chorus Line and the audience begins to learn of their heartfelt stories which led them to the stage they now practice and rehears on. Some stories are funny and some are more deep, and after Zach learns every thing about his hopeful cast, he makes his decision, ending the show with a song and dance finale by the new "Chorus Line." The show includes such songs as "I Hope I Get it" "At the Ballet" "Nothing" "The Music and the Mirror" "What I Did For Love" and "One." A Chorus Line has adult themes and is not recommended for children under 12 The show is currently playing at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater with a seating capacity of 1,080 and is owned by the Shubert Organization.
