Make Cards From Your Scrapbooking Materials

Sometimes you don't feel like taking out all your scrapbooking supplies and photographs but you wish to put something together. A perfect solution is to make some cards. Cards don't take as much time as creating a scrapbook page. And you can make a whole bunch at one time. Cards are used for every occasion including birthdays, graduations, and holidays. Everybody enjoys receiving cards especially if it's hand made and it looks like the person spent time making it.

Making the Card- slice a 8 1/2x11 piece of paper in half so it measures 5 1/2x8 . Use a scoring blade to score at 4 . Then fold in half. Use the scrapbooking supplies you would use while scrapbooking to decorate the front like patterned paper, stickers, die cuts, just to name a few. A good tool to use is a quote book. Find a quote that goes along with the theme of the card and write it either on the outside or the inside of the card.

It is helpful to make more than one of the same card. That way you'll always have one when you need it. Its beneficial to have a supply. A way to organize your supply of cards is to get a shoebox and place dividers in it with all the different labels (i.e. birthday, anniversary, etc.) Keep the appropriate envelope sizes in the shoebox so that they are always on hand.

Creating cards is often just as enjoyable as scrapbooking. If you get one great idea for a card, Make a bunch of the same cards. You may even want to rework the idea a little bit to change it into another subject, merely modify a few of the elements. Try card making one night instead of scrapbooking and see what you come up with!
