Have you ever seen those television commercials about how you can rent movies online and how they will send you the DVDs in the mail? I'm starting to see more and more of them but I've never really thought about doing something like this because I usually just swing by blockbuster on the way home from work and pick out a few.
The one thing you'll notice about renting movies these days is that the price of a new release is close to $5 bucks, for me this seems minor because I only rent a couple per week. Anyway last month I was doing some calculations on how I can better budget my money and I found out that I was spending around $120 per month on movies alone.
I figured this was a bit much to be spending on movies each month so I decided to cut back on the amount I was renting and get a budget in order, however this didn't last very long because I really like watching all the new releases that come out each week and that price exceeds my budget, so I decided to check out this whole online rental thing to see if it would save me some money.
I went and found this blockbuster special where you literally only spend $9.99 for your first month and $17.99 per month after that, so I figured that would save me about a $100 bucks per month.
I went ahead and signed up and I must say this is the greatest thing ever, some of the benefits of this is that I can rent up to 3 movies at any one time, they give me completely free shipping and they will send me the movies free of charge, plus I can send them back free of charge (Paid Postage). At first this was a bit of a hassle but then I realized that I don't even have to get the movies sent to me, I'm allowed to just swing by a store and pick 3 of them up for free when I drop off the 3 I already had. This worked out perfect because instead of waiting a few days for them to come in the mail I just swing by after work and pick up some new ones.
Basically I've decided to give blockbuster my highest rating for anything I've ever done online, this easily saves me a $100 bucks per month and it saves me time in the store because I go up, show them my card, and leave, not to mention you still don't have any late charges when you do it this way so you can keep the movies all month if you wanted too, I for one don't keep them for that long because I usually just pick up some new ones every second day or so.
So if your looking to cut down on the price your spending on renting movies then I highly suggest you check out blockbuster, It personally saves me time and money so I'm really happy I signed up.
