         The Samurai Jack cartoons may quite easily be catalogued as "weird". The dramatic accent is of a clear Asian origin, while the storyline and plot development are a blend of US and European cartoon styles. Samurai Jack was sent away, as a boy, to train in the disciplines of the samurai, when the evil Aku conquered his homeland. As an adult, Samurai Jack was sent away into a distant future by a time-travel portal. The Samurai Jack cartoons observe our hero as he journeys through strange universes, constantly fighting against Aku's evil creations and searching for the portal that will take him home. Each new episode brings new characters on stage, but Samurai Jack is often crossing path with the Scotsman in his fight against Aku and Demongo. The characters of Samurai Jack Samurai Jack - he is the perfect incarnation of a hero. Brave, noble and just, Samurai Jack saves countless civilizations from the perils brought upon them by the shape shifting Aku. Samurai Jack is a man of few words, as he lets his advanced training, karate skills and sharp blade do all the talking, in this fast paced, action filled cartoon series. Aku - with evil supernatural powers, Aku has brought chaos in every world he visited. No force was strong enough to counter Aku's dark dealings - but then Samurai Jack came along. Aku knows that Jack is the only one who can stop him, so he unleashes his full strength to eliminate the silent warrior. The Scotsman - a truly weird warrior, the Scotsman has a magical sword and a machine gun instead of his left leg. Although at first Samurai Jack and the Scotsman often crossed paths as opponents, they are now fighting on the same side of the barricade against Aku. Demongo - summoned by Aku, Demongo is able to steal the power and essence of the universe's greatest warriors. He uses this power to try and defeat Samurai Jack - our hero, however, knows how to use that same power in his advantage.
