Just be there
By John G Campbell
If you are stuck in traffic do your stress levels go thought the roof, do you bang the steering wheel and shout at the dead still cars in front of you. “Come on come on let’s go, I just gotta get to that meeting, I just gotta, I just cannot afford to be late?
WOH, Take a pause…
Imagine you are outside the car looking in at your agitated self...Does all that commotion make any difference? Does it make the traffic start moving again?
It is not improving the quality of life for you or those around you, and it is almost certain that it will be damaging your health. The traffic will only start moving again as soon as the obstruction is clear. Getting angry about the situation will not make even the slightest bit of difference.
You know there is nothing you can do to alleviate the situation. So take control of that little intense aggressive world, change it and relax in the moment, take a deep breath and "Just be there".
Relax in the car seat, turn your head side to side a few times, roll your shoulders, shake your arms out and adjust the position of your legs. You could put some music on or just sit back and enjoy doing nothing (but do take your car out of gear and put on the handbrake!!!)
In our busy hectic lives there are very few opportunities where you can just to do nothing. Snatch that moment and enjoy it, indulge yourself. Realise that time will pass without significance. The consequence of delay is something that can to be laid to rest at a later more convenient time.
There is no reason or blame all you need to do is...
"Just be there"
Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes and the grass grows by itself.
