Voice Messaging vs. Other Customer Contact Approaches

Voice messaging is one of the most effective and popular mode of marketing these days. In their different forms voice messages are serving businesses and customers. Business owners are utilizing the enormous potential of voice based messaging services in developing their business. On the other side, customers are using voice based services for solving their queries regarding the products or services being used by them in their daily life.

Voice messages are similar to other approaches of customer contact in planning and execution only. We start with identification of goals to be achieved, establishing a budget accordingly, and defining an overall strategy to make all these things a huge success. After all this home work, we identify our offers or call to action, then prepare a list of people or potential customers to be targeted, and develop creative thereon.

However, apart from these similarities there are several key differences too. Most influential key differences include:
1. More rapid time-to-launch
2. greater creative flexibility, and
3. A lower cost-per-contact.

Voice Messaging vs. Direct Mailing Systems

Let's compare voice messaging with traditional direct mailing system. A typical direct mailing campaign can take eight to ten weeks to implement. That will include creative development, print production, and mailing services. Depending upon the volume of mails the cost may increase of decrease, the unit cost may be anywhere from $0.27 per piece to over $1.00. After submission of all direct mails, we had to wait for another three-four weeks for the response. This was one of the biggest drawbacks of direct mailing systems. These days, the response of voice based messaging is instant, and conversion rate is also far more than that of direct mailing systems.

There are several advancements in voice messaging systems these days. Now, the processes have become more automated and focused intensely of serving the actual goals. Now the planning and implementation of any voice message based campaigns are possible more quickly than ever thought of. The whole process can be completed in just a couple of days, that too with greater flexibility in personalization and customization. What we need is a pre recorded voice message and the database of contact numbers of targeted pool of people.

With help of automated calling systems this task has become like one of the easiest ways of directly addressed marketing. Depending on the call volumes, the average cost-per-contact may range from $0.10 to $0.25. Response rates will be much higher. The result is a significant increase in response rates at a fraction of the cost of a typical print campaign.
