What Websites Did I Visit Last Week? Ask Google.

There is a lot of talk and concern right now about Google and what its doing with all this data it’s collecting. Some also say that Google is a ticking time bomb. What I would say to this is that Google is no one trick pony. Google has many other great popular services that it has rolled out in the last couple of years, and more to come no doubt.

What a lot of people fail to see is that for Google to provide us with the perfect search then they have to collect as much data about your searching history as possible. So it can service you with the best possible search that’s right for the individual.

I can understand people’s annoyances that they don’t want Google tracking what you are doing. This is fair enough but all the information is protected the best it can. If you want to continually use this excellent search engine then this has to be tolerated. Google is by no means perfect but that is their aim.

Take for example this new Google phone not only is this way for Google to increase its market share within the search engine world. This also is a good way for it to collect more data about your search patterns. Google has also launched its new browser called Chrome; Google however did say this was a defensive move. However this is also an opportunity for Google to collate more data.

Thanks to Google a whole industry has risen from the bursting of the internet bubble and this industry is now worth billions.

I refer in particular to search engine optimisation; this industry is growing all the time and helps businesses expose their products to a global market. Without this service most companies wouldn’t be able to make as much money as they are these days. If you’re looking for SEO UK I would recommend here as they can build you an SEO friendly website design.

So the next time you start to criticize Google as being big brother just remember the service they provide and take a second to think what the internet would be like without them. What Google did was revitalise the internet and let companies start to make money again from the internet. Although Google did not event PPC (pay per click) advertising they are credited for making it profitable.
