Meta tags in the header section of a website has been around for years now, it started out as a good way for search engines to figure out which category a website belongs to, though keywords and a description, but many things have changed since. To be honest, I still spend a little time creating meta tags, even though google, msn an the other big search engines does not use them anymore, or not quite true, some people claim that google still uses the desciption tag for something. As I see it, using just a small amout of time and a small amout of effort writing them, can get you just a little longer in the process of optimizing, but not as search engines concern, i’m refering to sites such as website directories, and for some website submission sites, some of them perfere loading in your keywords and description tags from your website instead of letting you write them again. So you see, write them for web directories and submissino sites, but don’t use hours of time trying to figure out what keyword sentences are best fit for your meta tags, just write some, use your common sense. Instead keywords are more important for search engines as google, within your content text, also known as keyword desisity, eg. How often a speciffic keyword is repeated within a text, but don’t repeat a keyword to much, keep it realistic, do it as you would, for your visitors, its still their needs that are needed to be fulfilled.
