Whether or not you are going to post a picture on Myspace, Facebook or share them with friends choosing one of the free image hosting sites available on the net is a good idea. Here are som good reasons why: 1.) Ease of use - They use an easy web form for simply uploading, and give you the "codes" needed in order to post them where you want. Many forums often run slow because of its lack of bandwidth. 2.) Saves bandwidth - You save your e-mail providers, Facebook, Myspace, yourself or your favorite forums bandwidth. You get an easy link you can easily share with your friends several times, without having to worrying about deletion. It's ease of use makes it a great way for sharing your pictures. Simply uploading the picture gives you codes for posting the pictures where you want. I have shared my pictures on Myspace, Facebook, forums, by e-mail and Instant Messaging services like MSN. Another great advantage is that you don't have to upload the files several times. Once uploaded, it’s easy to share them several times with a link. Well, how about privacy? Fortunately, you can password protect your pictures on some sites, and select whether or not to make them appear public on the pages. This is as easy as breathing. I'll list you some of my favorite services: 1.) MyImg.info ( http://myimg.info ) This is my personal favorite because its ease of use, allows big files (5Mb), has password protection, its ability to select whether or not to let your pictures be displayed public, easy resizing, and best of all, a clean and easy to use interface with no registration at all. Con: Not having the ability to register and getting a gallery. 2.) Imageshack.us ( http://imageshack.us ) This is my second service of choice. Pros: Easy upload, high bandwidth, resizing and it allows you to register in order to store your own galleries. The biggest con is the amount of advertising and not having the ability to password protect. Max file size is 1.5Mb. 3.) Photobucket ( http://photobucket.com ) Photobucket is another site which looks a bit like Imageshack. It has a nice interface, though with advertising, and another con is that you have to register in order to upload anything. A pro is that you have the ability to search for pictures as well as videos (though that's not what we're focusing on here). You also get a gallery interface like at Imageshack. 4.) Tinypic ( http://tinypic.com ) Easy upload which allows tagging, but your pictures will appear online public. No other special functions. Just a simple interface. 5.) Xs.to (http://xs.to) Just upload and go! It has no other functions, but a 2.5Mb file limit and max 500 files per user.
