The concept of memory includes ability of Memory is the ability of a being to retain, store, and recall information. The process of memorization begins with outer environmental motivation which creates sensory memory. The next process that happens in brain transferring of information to the short term memory, in there it can be preserved by rehearsal and supplementary encoded for saving it in long term memory otherwise it is forgotten. There are two parts of the long term memory depending on the kind of stored information: declarative memory(explicit) and procedural one(implicit). These two concepts are completely different because practical memory is based on understood learning and declarative memory needs conscious recall. All steps of memory have to be completed and information must be prearranged and kept in long term memory in order for the procedure of information retrieval and memorization to be successful. Short term memory has a meaning of a working, active, or primary memory, since it keeps information for a limited number of seconds quite the opposite to the long term memory, in which an unlimited quantity of information is stored indefinitely. The information which is held in short term memory is the information newly regained out of long term memory, processed sensory input, and the information that was received from current mental processing. Short term memory length is limited to a restricted number of seconds and after that it can be relocated to long term memory by way of encoding or be completely forgotten. In general, the procedure of consolidation is improved either due to practice or connection to a thing that has already been kept in the long term memory. One more negative quality of the short term memory is the imperfect ability both in amount and time of information stored. A definite estimation on the strict amount of capacity and time doesn’t exist; but on the other hand, short term memory is normally limited to a number of seconds, while the size is a factor of personal speed of information dispensation and has a period of about eight items.
