Learn 7 hot tips You Should Know so you can Rest Easy

    1. Starting with Types of Baby Monitors:
Video Baby Monitor Vs audio Baby Monitor

It can be difficult to select the best baby monitor for you with so many different types on the market. There are audio baby monitors, video baby monitors, heart rate baby monitors, baby movement monitors and dual room baby monitors – to name a few.

Audio baby monitors simply allow you to hear the sounds in your baby’s room. We all know that a quiet toddler is often a toddler up to mischief! Perhaps the nursery wall is being decorated with nappy contents – that old story! Worse still, baby could be in danger, but unless you can see what is going on how will you know?

The advantage of video audio baby monitors is clear - you can see and hear your child up to 100m away. This means no more wondering and worrying “What was that sound?” and having to run and check on them. A quick glance at the live color image display on your monitor’s LCD screen can help set your mind at ease. You can also ‘show off’ baby to visitors while he or she is sleeping without having to disturb the room.

Many video baby monitors allow you to connect to a TV or computer monitor for a big screen view. You may even connect to the VCR and record your baby monitor video. Video baby monitors are also a great way to watch over young children when you’re not in the room. Better video baby monitors are in full colour and include a built in microphone for clear sound and vision of your baby at all times.

    2. Portability – Is it wireless, what size and how heavy is it?

Wireless baby monitors are increasingly popular due to their convenience and portability. When purchasing a baby monitor check if it has AC power only, battery only or a combination of the 2 options.

Some baby monitors have a fixed, wired base / camera with a portable, wireless receiver / display, (or vice versa) giving the same monitor portability but restricting the base unit to mains power.

With a portable, wireless video baby monitor you will be able to listen and watch over bub no matter what you’re up to; while hanging out the washing, sitting by the pool, cleaning the house or relaxing in the yard with friends and family you will have your eyes and ears safely on baby.

Even the laziest hubby can quickly check on your baby with the hand held monitors being the size of a TV remote!

The weight and size of baby monitors varies. Most are fairly light-weight and some are compact enough to fit in a hand bag. The smallest monitors usually have display screens of about 1.5inch. The larger 2.5 inch screens are a big difference with detail and clarity.
