My ma one time told me that when she delivered me it was the happiest, most memorable day of her whole life. Silly as it may look but we incessantly make our moms do stuff for us before like wash our clothes, fix up after us and thinking about it nowadays made me feel bad on how thoughtless we were back in the day. My mom is queasy all the time because of multi-tasking between her work and tending to us that at some point I foreboded I would never be a mother, ever. Just think, having a hard job with the most awful pay, has hardly the time to ease off and still attends to us youngsters. Who in their normal judgment would wish to go through all of that?
Lets just take a stride back and acquire a reply to the question, What is a proper mother consist of?
What things do we have to possess to be called a mother? Aside from being the oneswho gave birth to us, what makes them so extraordinary to deserve them their personal remarkable occassion in the calendar called Mother's Day? Questions such as the latter are what kept pestering me because I did not know the precise reply.
The day I eventually undergone with maternity is the day I had the reply to my questions. And these are some of the fantastic things I have discovered on my journey of being a mom.
I discovered that the set phrase "Its Okay, Mommys here" works like magic; Mothers have the only pretty face in existence; When you hear the quote "Mother Knows Best" is equivalent to the phrase "I told you so" or you have to have your mom's approval on everything specially your choice of women or men in your life.
But more than that, I discovered that being mother is not just being the source of subsistence but also comfort, not just a source of trust but loyalty, not just a source of friendship but unconditional love. A bundle of emotions comes with motherhood that defies all known reason.
Because being a mother means giving life but not living it for your children, it means teaching them things but not learning it for them, letting them know whats right from wrong but not deciding it for them, it means giving them freedom but at the same time not be accountable for them.
Supporting your children in every path they take even though its the least path you would like them to take. A mother is always there to endure the pain in life. Because the unfathomable fact is, you can never stop being a mother.
Courage. The main trait one has to exhibit in order to be called a real mother is courage. And why are mothers so special because they can take the place of all other people but then expect nothing in return. Therefore it is extremely important for them to be commemorated because they are the ones that brought us into this world and on top of that gave up theirs.
I already know this because of a very wonderful person in my life, my mother. As the mother of my kids now, the most fantastic part of my life is to know that I am important to my kids, and I will love them unconditionally, forever.
