In order to stay positive and receptive to our wealth wealth and prosperity, it is imperative to stir clear of negative, gossiping people, situations, and negative media. I'm not suggesting having your head in the sand and not being aware of things that are happening in the world. But unfortunately as the saying goes, "Garbage in, garbage out." The more negativity we are around, the more likely we will once again get back into the same kind of negative thinking and acting as before. Surrounding ourselves with negative, complaining people and situations will only dissipate our good and we don't want to go backward after all the work we have done! Remember, 'You assemble with those you resemble,' and also the saying 'Water seeks its own level.' You attract people and situations at your own level. To attract things at a higher level, YOU must be at a higher level of thinking and believing positive and productive thoughts of prosperity and success. So, if this means bringing new people and new activities into your life (and letting go of the old ones), so be it. Start getting in tune with and STAYING in tune with the higher, healthier and more prosperous side of life and that is what you will attract to you. Remember, "Like attracts like!"

As a salesperson handling a very large territory, I constantly overhead people talking about how tough it was 'out there' and how bad it was 'out there.' I would see articles that were saying the same thing. I made sure that I had the most important, top-line information about what was going on in the world and about my clients, their companies and their products, and I just CONTINUED making my sales calls with the same, upbeat attitude despite what anyone else was saying or doing. I found that with a consistent consciousness of abundance and prosperity within me, my sales ALSO stayed consistent despite what was supposedly going on 'out there.' Of course, there were times when campanies were cutting back, but I knew that most of them still had advertising dollars to spend so I kept trying to get them! I tried very hard to never give my attention to the negative side of the equation.

How did I do it? By knowing the important Universal Law that 'Thoughts are things and that your thoughts create your reality,' I just kept plugging away knowing that I would continue to succeed despite what other people were thinking, saying, or doing. This Universal Law is impartial. It is the same for everyone including you and me. Knowing this ageless wisdom is so important in our professional lives as well as in our personal lives. By knowing that your thoughts create your reality, you can discover why your life is as it is. It is simple really. When you concentrate on abundance, prosperity and success, THAT is what you will draw to you...the people, the circumstances and the situations in your life.

Conversely, if your most dominant thoughts each day are on the lack and limitation in your life, that, then is what you will continue to draw to you as well. "As within, so without," and "You go where your vision is." are two popular quotes underscoring that fact. You create your outer life from within and not the other way around. When you train your mind (and it IS a daily process) to concentrate mostly on succeeding and prospering, you will resonate with that belief and you WILL attract to yourself the people and circumstances that resonate at that level!

Staying upbeat and positive and having an 'expectation' of success, will also help your clients and your co-workers feel happier and more hopeful and optimistic about the circumstances in their lives. I knew my clients really enjoyed and appreciated my tenacity perseverance, positivity and success-minded approach, so even if I did not get their business during a certain go-around, I knew that I was planting wonderful seeds for the future and when they did have the opportunity to run their business in my magazine they would.

What was wonderful and reaffirming about this process was that, in the end, if I did lose some advertising dollars due to unfroreseeable cut-backs or changes in my client's strategy, the universe always saw to it that my other clients increase their spending in my magazine and/or that I broke some exciting, new business that I had been working on for months or even years!

Remember, you don't get what you want, you get what you EXPECT! By consistently expecting more wealth and prosperity in my professional career, it always came to me...sometimes in way I could of never foreseen. So, beginning today, please start having a much bigger 'consciousness of expectancy' for increased wealth and prosperity in your life and you, too, will be surprised on how quickly the universe works to deliver it to you!
