I first became aware of credit repair many years ago when I got into finance. I would have people that had all kinds of things on their credit bureaus preventing them from getting a loan. The only thing at the time that I knew to tell them was to go down to the credit bureau and dispute it. Well, they actually took me at my word. Then they started coming back into the dealership with brand new credit files and were able to buy a car! I learned a tremendous amount from my customers about credit repair during this period and I’m still never ceased to be surprised. I recently saw one ladies credit bureau who had filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy and been discharged for only around 4 months. She started telling me that she was able to get rid of the ‘Bankruptcy’ on her credit report. I didn’t argue with her (because I didn’t think it was true) but asked to see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ credit bureaus. She showed me both and lo and behold, she had successfully removed the Chapter 7 bankruptcy off of her Equifax and Trans Union credit reports. I was amazed at the credit repair! One of the myths to credit repair is that you can only remove actual items that you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are not yours. Not so. You can remove negative items that actually are yours! That’s what’s beautiful about this credit repair method. Everything needs to be worded exactly so (not form letters) and done in a certain manner, but other than that, most of what you need is perseverance. You have to repeat steps a few times to achieve the desired results, but the payoff can be big. Wouldn’t you love to get rid of your bad credit? It sure would be nice to walk in knowing that you had excellent credit and could purchase whatever you wanted wouldn’t it? Well, you can. I’ve seen it firsthand, I’ve done it and I know it’s true. It’s not a scam because you are simply utilizing a few laws that were put into effect some years back. All you are doing is using the laws to your advantage. Years ago, a few credit bureaus got sued (and lost) because they would not answer their telephones! Now, they’re pretty snappy to deal with. And remember, a lot of credit repair is just common sense. If you make $5.00 per hour and you have a stack of work on your desk, are you going to actually get up and go to the records room in the basement and spend and hour or so looking for a signature from Jane Doe who claims she never bought anything from Acme Company before? No, of course you’re not. You could care less. With Credit Repair, play all angles. My motto is: Start today and celebrate tomorrow.
