(www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has rolled out a high performance and cost-effective copper transceiver which is specially designed for use with single-mode (SM) fiber and is completely compliant with SONET/SDH recommendations for OC-48 specifications.It operates at a wavelength of 1310nm and is well suited for serial telecom and data applications such as 1.25Gigabit Ethernet over Cat 5 cable, switch/router to switch/router links and high speed I/O for file servers.
The HTSFP-24-111X copper transceiver is composed of two sections: the transmitter section and the receiver section.The transmitter section incorporates FP and driver IC with temperature compensation and an automatic power control circuit.The receiver section incorporates an efficient InGaAs/InP PIN photodiode and trans-impedance with AGC for wide dynamic rage.
The hot pluggable transceiver has a small form factor package, detailed product information in its EEPROM, compact RJ-45 connector assembly and can access the physical layer IC via 2-wire serial bus. The transceiver consumes little power and offers excellent immunity and reliability Its LVPECL data interface simplifies interfacing to external circuitry.
