What are you doing right now? Are you driving to work, or to class? Are you studying for an exam that is due tonight? Did you get married before you finished college? Did you put your ex through college? Did your parents tell you that the only way to get anywhere in this world was to go to college and graduate and become a professional doctor, dentists, or lawyer? Did you parents get angry with you if your report showed anything other than A’s?
I will tell you a little story. The only A’s I saw on my report card were the A’s I made up when I designed my own report card. I added A’s beside all my subjects. I thought it was a great idea, but my parents disagreed.
I am married to someone who every parent would like to have as a kid. He made A’s in all his classes without studying plus he remembered everything he heard and saw and never forgot it. I disliked school and I still really don’t care for studying, classes, and paperwork.
But I have learned a trick or two as I have gotten older. At age 60 I quit my job of 16 years. I was making a 6-figure income, but I fired my boss. I was tired of making my company rich instead of me.
I gave my boss notice and walked out the front door. I was a little nervous, but I checked the classifieds and I found a job. I took the job and I became my own boss and I have never looked back. I can now work anywhere, anyplace, anytime. The only thing I need is a cell phone, but a laptop is useful as well.
Right now, I am sitting on the beach at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I will be here for a week. I am on my way to Florida with a couple of stops on the way.
While I am earning lots of money I am also enjoying the time to study and learn about myself. Right now I am sitting here in a beach chair working on an internet marketing business school lessons. I am learning how to earn more money and improve my mind.
One thing for sure, I am not sitting in traffic heading home from work or heading to class to finish my degree. I am not taking this class because my parents want me to make the dean’s list. I am able to take this class sitting on the beach and earn money because of my home based business. My home based business allows me to visit my grandkids soccer games, concerts during the day or on weekends. I am really surprised the number of parents who use coaches as babysitters. They never take the time to see the games.
