Getting in on the ground floor can be a great move if you are not relying exclusively on that as your source of success. The mlm heavy hitters have the greatest opportunities in startups because they have lists of thousands of people to market the opportunity to.
In the early days ground floor growth comes from these huge lists, not from the average opportunity seeker. This is often interpreted as a the golden opportunity but if you are starting from scratch it may not matter. The concept of mlm is relatively unflawed but there are fundamental flaws in general mlm ideologies.
These are created by bad marketing and have led many people down a path of failure. Some of these are listed below.
1. If I get in on the ground floor I will get rich. This is not true unless you are a super affiliate that has a big list. Just getting in early doesn’t mean that you will be successful.
2. If I get sponsored by a recruiter like Rachel Long I will have success. This is just not true. Most pay plans are structured in such a way that it is not possible to get any substantial income unless you personally sponsor people into the business yourself.
3. If I get on the right team I will not have to work. This is not true. In fact the better team you get on the harder you will work. Good teams do not do the work for you but train you to be a leader and do the work yourself,
4. If I get in the right pay plan with spill I will be successful. Again this is not true. The popular matrix looses it’s compression, a binary needs to be balanced. The spill may help but you are required to recruit for yourself to make any real money.
5. If I join a lot of companies I will be a success. On the contrary the more companies you join the more you are spread out. It doesn’t take long to get weary of the auto-ship charges on several companies.
6. If I keep trying new companies I will eventually hit a winner. Look, if the companies were responsible for your success then you might have something. The truth is many people jump from company to company blaming them for their failure and lack of marketing skills, There are a lot of people that think they are going to join a program and somehow magically become rich.
You can thank our marketing for that, It just doesn’t work that way. In every one of these cases there is a common thread that comes back to rest with the distributor. The conclusion shouts with clarity. If you are going to be a success in mlm you must develop the right skill sets to make it work. Mlm success is not arbitrary and illusive.
On the contrary it is calculated and predicable when using the proper skills. This is not a business of chance but of opportunity. Using the proper systems your results can be expected with confidence. So a ground floor mlm can be a great choice but not the magic formula that will bring you success. That is up to you.
If you possess the skill sets necessary for mlm success then you will be a top earner in any company you join.
