Have you ever stopped to consider sounds and noise? Probably not, but if you did you would probably divide them into two categories. Noises and sounds you liked and those you didn’t those that ‘grated’ on your senses and those that ‘smoothed’ or calmed your senses. There are noises that wind you up and noises that calm you down. Now we all have different tolerance levels and we all have noises and sounds we like that others probably wouldn’t. However there are some noises in this world of ours that probably all of us can’t stand. In other words we are united in a few noises we hate. Any idea what they are? Let me give you one or two. Fingernails scraping down the blackboard when you were at school (ooh! I can just hear that one now). Here is another one; a fork scraping across the bottom of a metal saucepan (can’t you just feel it now) sends shivers down your spine doesn’t it. The third one of course is when you wake up in the morning from a deep, deep sleep and you hear the rrrrrrrrringing of the dreaded ALARM CLOCK. When you think about it the first two noises I described, the fingernails and the saucepan you could actually almost feel something of the pain in your senses. Whereas the pain the Alarm Clock causes is really the pain of association The association bit is the pain caused by the thought that when I hear that noise I will have to get up the morning. Get out of bed and do what I have to do when I don’t want to. Well the good news is; if you want to soften the blow and change from that harsh ringing tone you can now get an alarm clock that wakes you up in the morning to the sounds of nature. Yes believe it or not you can now get an alarm clock of natural outdoor sounds. What sounds I can hear you asking? Well there are peaceful types of sounds like waterfalls, birds and animals in the jungle. You can choose to be woken up to a nice thunderstorm if you like. But don’t select the one with a war zone (just joshing). In fact you can select just the type of nature sound you want to wake up to. Now isn’t that unique. Of course it is. Now then; the next question you will be asking is where do I get one of these nature alarm clocks. Well I am afraid you’re more likely to find one in a gadget type store rather than a general high street store. You know the type they have all those new age type things, swing back chairs fancy bedside and table lamps. You might have to apply the old grey matter to find one but they are quite a novelty and well worth it for the control you can exercise in waking up in the morning and preparing yourself for the new day. C’mon wake up Tiger!
