The perfect bathroom suite can make selling a home a snap. In today’s market, it seems that the bathroom, not location, is reigning supreme. Buyers are looking for updated, luxurious, and quality bathrooms. There is not a lot of interest in doing it yourself in this buyers market.
As interest rates continue to rise (or at least refuse to decline), sellers will have to get creative in order to draw in the consumers. It is possible to update a bathroom and give it that suite feeling with out breaking the bank account.
The first thing that needs to be done to turn the room into a luxury bathroom suite is to lose the shower curtain. Not much says “out dated” like this things. Not to mention the difficulty you can have in trying to keep them clean. Even the ones that say mold free aren’t. We’ve tried them all in the past, without any success. In the end, we pulled out the old and went with a clear glass shower enclosure instead.
Flooring is the next thing to look at in your bathroom suite. Is the tile out dated? Is the room filled with a thick layer of carpet (which I have NEVER understood)? Replace the old floor with new tile. Large tiles can give a small room a big feel. It can also be a fun project to take on. Doing the tile on your own will make the renovation a very inexpensive endeavor. The local home improvement store can guide you on the path to laying the tile correctly. Check for any clinics they may have in the near future.
The last suggestion I have for making your bathroom suite one that could sell a home is the fixtures. The old, molded plastic fixtures will have to go. By upgrading to some quality handles, you can give your room some high class. Don’t go overboard. There are fixtures available that cost into the thousands. Think basic, but classy and you will do okay.
It doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated to make your bathroom suite one of the show rooms in your home.
