American blinds are manufactured right here in the United States. Most of the components in today’s blinds are made in foreign countries. The reason is because of price. The main exception is the Wooden Shutters and wood blinds which are made of North American hardwoods. Some do not like the fact that these are made over seas.
The good news is that people expect American Blinds to be ready for installation in just a few days if made from scratch. That is why around 90% of all window coverings are manufactured in the Untied States from many different fabricators.
This trend for American blinds does not look like it will change soon. Foreign blinds (like the cut down ones at the big box stores) cannot be custom made to the nearest 1/8” of an inch like all american blinds.
