The bathroom is probably one of the most used rooms in the home. It is important to keep it clean and fresh, not only for unexpected company, but for your family as well. To make the bathroom a place you want to be, it needs to look and smell fresh. Although some people use air fresheners to accomplish this, the smell can be harsh and overwhelming (especially for a small bathroom). A quick mop, wipe down of the exterior of the toilet, and a scrub of the sink will bring a new life to the bathroom. In our home, the children handle these chores. It doesn’t take them long, it helps me have time for other chores, and I never have to cringe if someone has to use our bathrooms while they are visiting. It is also important to keep the soap out in the open, and the tooth brushes away from the open. If you thing of all the germs that are floating around the bathroom then you want to expose your toothbrush as little as possible. The soap should be out for everyone’s use. I keep the liquid soap filled. With small children, I have found that diluting the soap with water helps with waste. For visitors, there is nothing worse than washing your hands and finding nothing to dry them on. Keep a hand towel near or on the sink to encourage people to wash up at the conclusion of their visit to the room. Keeping the bathroom clean is not as time consuming as some might imagine. Doing the jobs on a consistent time line will make them easier and quicker. The clean room will be inviting to visitors, and it will also be healthier for your own family. With a little planning, your bathroom could become the best place in the house.
