It is obviously seen that just about each person is to blame in one way or another. Marquez lays censure in several ways throughout the narrative. Not only is Santiago’s death depicted very graphically, but the following autopsy and examination of the dead body is described as a murder after the murder. Terrible circumstances are the consequence of such blind acceptance. As well, as further evidence of blame, the author shifts point of vies in the last episode of the novel. Blatant irony is employed by using “we” instead of “I”. Here the person who reads can see just how crafty he is in his indictment of the city as a collective.</div>
