Hitting the mark in marketing
Click for Readable HTML Version Hitting the mark in marketing by Ray Burton If you want to hit the mark of success in your marketingefforts, then you have to be sharply focused on what you'reselling and to whom. Like a double-edged sword if you like.Let's use the business opportunity niche as an example.Business opportunities are a dime a dozen. What sets yoursapart from the crowd? Why would anyone or I want to join? This is called your unique selling point. The question is, doyou have one? This is what you must promote to get the success you desire. It could be a product feature, a superior level of supportservice, a product's versatility, an aspect of your guaranteeor something that's original about the opportunity. If you'renot sure what your unique selling point is, then brainstormwith your mentors and peers to identify it.If you don't have one, then go back to the drawing board. Create one if it's your own product. If it's not, thentalk to the owner of the product with a suggestion or two. This in itself is an opportunity. Alternatively you could marketit with additional products or services to make it unique. The other edge to your marketing sword is your target market. You must drill down to where the buyers are. If you use emailmarketing then make sure they are optin for business opportunities and not something else. If you advertise in ezines, then make sure the ezine is focused on business opportunities. If you use adsense then you can get an income by carefully selected keywords. If you are an affiliate marketer then make sure your landing page is optimized with keywords. This combination can either promote your product's uniqueselling point to your targeted niche market or it sendstargeted traffic to see your product focusing on its uniqueselling point, depending on which form of marketing you use.Experiment with all forms of marketing and track the resultsto find out where you are getting the best results.Remember if you are buying traffic "hits", they are notnecessarily targeted to your niche. 100 targeted visitors toyour site may be of much greater than a million hits from allthe extremities of the web. So pay close attention to wherethey originate. If they're good quality make sure you capture them with anoptin offer to your mailing list, then treat them like gold. Givethem quality content in your emails and not just continualpressure to buy your products. Don't send too many emailson a regular basis and never give their address to anyoneelse. Ask yourself would you want to receive the emails yousend or would you opt out?
