When you first install a burglar alarm system, it is not uncommon to be worried about false alarms. It is also not uncommon to set off a false alarm with your burglar alarm system while the system is new, but there are steps that you and your family can take to prevent them.

The first thing that you can do to prevent false alarms from your burglar alarm system is to make sure that you - and all of the other members of your family - know about the burglar alarm system and how it works. One simple element of this step is to make sure that everyone in the family knows how to arm and disarm the burglar alarm system.

Of course, it may not only be the members of your family who will need to know this. If you have babysitters or members of a cleaning service team, it is important for them to know about your burglar alarm system because they may be entering or leaving the home when you are not there.

However, no matter how much prevention you do to keep your burglar alarm system from sending false alarms, there is always a possibility that one will occur. If it happens while you are at home, simply enter your code to disarm the system and be ready with the password when Guardian's representatives call to make sure that everything is alright.
