Are You An Ebay Auction-Wallflower?
Click for Readable HTML Version Are You An Ebay Auction-Wallflower? by Tanis Wahl Maybe you're NOT one of those people that likes to stand out in a crowd. Perhaps you are more comfortable as the token wallflower at parties, dances, clubs or any other various social setting. That's fine and entirely up to you. But if you are trying to make money online, especially via the multiple conduits offered through Ebay, then you'd better get prepared to let the hidden exhibitionist in you out and put yourself in the lime-light, intentionally! You've got to want all eyes on you - front and center - if you hope to earn a penny online because you are competing with millions of other people who are trying to make a living, or even a few extra dollars, in the same fashion. If you've simply opened an Ebay account, listed your item, and are now sitting there waiting for people to view it, let alone bid on it - then you are regrettably an auction-wallflower fading into obscurity by the second. Now, I can hear you asking yourself what you should do about this. I happen to have a few suggestions. Firstly, scrap your auction title. Likely, you've done what everybody on earth has done with that exact same item for sale on Ebay. You listed it by simply stating what it is. Worse yet, you might have tried something pedestrian like, "New", "Rare", "Hot", "Mint", etc, also in the title. Nobody is going to search for your item by typing in those words. Not a chance. Instead, do some research and find out which keywords are the MOST SOUGHT on Ebay. Then try incorporating these into your auction title as they are applicable. Try using the Pulse on Ebay, or a program called "Hot Item Finder", and use its Popular Search Term Generator. Second, consider employing the power of VIDEO to sell your item on Ebay. You can now upload short videos to your auctions as a form of advertising your item. There's a free screen capture software called CamStudioIM, and it works pretty well. I'd suggest checking out the CamStudioPro version instead, because it now recently comes with a Video Web Wizard, and allows you to edit your clips as well as convert them to flash format. Thirdly, consider combining the powerful exposure of YouTube with your video auction listing. You can find all of the detailed steps required to accomplish this by means of a developer named, Dave Guindon, at his site: www.DavesOnlineVideos.com That should take care of any questions you have regarding the technical aspects of setting up your files, uploading them and other such details. Use any or all three of these ideas combined, and your Ebay auction-wallflower days will be over. Now get out there, and get noticed! How to end your ebay auction-wallflower days and get your listings noticed, using any or all three of these suggestions.
