<div align=justify>Confusion and misconceptions have been brought about by the travel insurance provided by some credit card companies.  Other people rely on travel insurance offered by their credit cards, not knowing that their coverage is only limited to travel accidents that may happen aboard a plane, on a train or a rented car that they have availed using their credit cards.  In short, the coverage is very limited and very conditional.

Misleading advertisements made by some credit card companies leave some people to believe that they are fully covered in situations where accidents and tragedies occur on their trips.  A lot of major credit card providers offer their members free travel insurances and other similar programs.  It is advisable for you to take time to read the terms and conditions of the insurance provided by your credit card company to elicit right information about the coverage offered by your card issuer.  You might be surprised to find out that it is not as handy and reliable as what you may have previously thought because of the pre-existing conditions that they have.

Most of the major credit card companies in Canada offer limited travel insurance coverage to their cardholders.  Most of them only offer their members accident insurance coverage, with conditions such as the card issuer must have met the accident while in the services or premises of the carrier where he has credited full payment using his card. These credit card companies pay you with the corresponding losses that you incur, per body part lost, paralyzed and life lost only.  Other companies offer additional protection (such as medical hospitalization and ambulatory services, etcetera) for an additional annual fee, but its reimbursements and coverage are also within certain limits.

Going out with friends and family on vacation is fun.  Walking in the park, strolling foreign cities, going to the beaches, swimming, sunbathing, windsurfing, hiking and other fun filled adventures could predispose you to fortuitous events like accidents or other unlikely injuries.  What’s even worse is for you to find out that your credit card company would not pay for your expenses on the said situation, making you feel helpless especially you are a stranger to wherever you may be.  Then you begin to wish that you have the power to turn back the time and made that investment in an insurance company to provide you with full coverage for medical expenses on your trip.  You wouldn’t wish to experience this, and you do have a choice: Do not let this happen to you.

Would you risk your own health and lives for these freebies rather than invest in a few dollars per day for a safe travel that is worry free?  It is always better to always be prepared in everything rather than having regrets in the end.  Being fastidious and thorough is good especially if it will benefit you and your family.  Get the right insurance to cover all your health needs and be able to really have a fun filled trip that is hassle free, worry free and indeed relaxing!</div>
