You may already have a logo or design in mind; however, when that design goes into the realm of embroidery, it may be necessary to make some slight modifications in the color department. Here is a look at what colors are available and how many colors should be used.

    Stock Colors.
Most embroiderers have about thirty to sixty stock colors available. These include typical colors including varying hues of primary and secondary colors.

    Pantone Colors.
Pantone colors are custom created colors that come in thousands of hues. It would be impossible for any embroiderer to offer all Pantone colors; however, most companies can provide color matching for a small fee.

    How many colors?
For an effective and affordable embroidered logo, it is best to have only two or three colors. The more colors in a logo, the more times the needle must pick up and change colors.

    Color Blending.
Color Blending and gradient patterns are not easily obtained in embroidery. If a logo contains gradient patterns, it is best to focus on two or three colors from the pattern to include in the logo.
