Internet Marketing Tips:
Written By: Michael Robinson
As the cost of PCs decrease and availability of broadband connections increase, more and more people are trying their hand at Internet marketing. Therefore it is safe to say that the competition among the various niches is increasing dramatically. Nevertheless, online marketing of products such as software, e-books and videos can still offer the knowledgeable marketer a profitable career.
Web sites and blogs, in particular WordPress style blogs, are increasing by the thousands daily. So it's no wonder traffic is becoming harder and harder to obtain if for no other reason than the sheer volume of websites competing for your customer’s.
So it has become more important than ever for each webmaster or marketer to take the utmost advantage of each visitor that comes to their site. Of course it is the wish of each marketer to have every visitor become a buyer. Unfortunately this ideal scenario will never happen.
Fortunately, measures can be taken to increase the click-thru rate from a sites' current traffic volume. So the question now becomes, what is it that we can do to increase sales?
1. Make sure to place your main offer in the top fold of each page. I know this seems like a small thing, but you would be surprised to find out just how many marketers make it difficult for their would-be buyers to buy anything.
Placing the product that you wish to offer in the top left corner of the page ensures that each visitor has easy access to the product being offered for sale. In other words stick it right in their face so they have no choice but to see it.
2. Go through the content picking out the most obvious keywords and turn that keyword into a text link.
In case you don't know what a text link is: a text link is nothing more than a word which has been selected to convert into a click-able link leading a visitor to either an affiliate product or your own.
Pictures can also be turned into links. The point I'm trying to make is that the more click-able links you make available, whether they be text words or pictures, provides your visitor with more opportunities to buy. Of course this increased purchase opportunity increases the number of sales that you will make.
Choose your text links wisely. As an example, a click-able link could be something as simple as “click here” or “Get your copy now”. Doesn't a text link of that nature have more eye appeal than “http://www.Blahblahblah.com”?
3. Focus your content towards the benefit of your visitor. All that means is that you're providing your visitor with some a valuable report or advice. You want each visitor to know that you're here to solve their problems. Bear in mind you never want to give away the farm. Just give them enough to entice them. Give enough for them to see a solution to their problem can be obtained by clicking on the link and buying whatever it is you're selling, be it an affiliate link or your product.
Preselling is an art unto itself. It takes time and effort to learn how to soft sell a product without chasing off your potential buyer.
