Strengthen Your Community

The smaller your business is the better chance you have of creating an image that every business tries as hard as it can to emulate: the friendly, family run business connected to the community.

It shouldn’t be any surprise that this image is so sought after. People are inclined to turn their attention away from the massive, faceless corporations. No company wants to be labeled as the uncaring company who isn’t at all connected to the community they’re trying to do business in.

You don’t have to fight back against that image at all, because all a person needs to do is walk into your store or call you on the phone and they can know they’re actually talking to the owner of the company. That creates a bond that few other forms of marketing can match, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t more you can do to connect yourself to your community.

Find local organizations or groups that you can join up with, such as little league teams or charity drives. Whatever you choose, make sure to get some color printing done and send out a lot of flyers for the organizations.

This helps you in two primary ways. Number one you have a lot of advertising being sent out with your company name on it, and number two it helps people see how much you’re helping out your community by sponsoring the local organization.

If you have a particular niche market that you try to emphasize the most than try to figure out a group you can join up with that’s strongly connected to it. Such as for those in the music industry try to sponsor a local band or help out a venue meant for local musicians to play at.

Only you’re going to know the right kind of partnership that will have the best impact on your image within the community. And never forget to mention on all of your color printing the fact that you’re a genuinely local company. Every time someone shops at your store they’re helping the local economy.

You might also consider a partnership with another local business in order to boost up your sales. This will be particularly important if you don’t have a large budget for marketing. You and another small store can pool your resources together to get the most color printing possible.

If you can find the right combination you can help increase your image as well by relating it to the other store. Once again, only you’ll be able to figure out the right kind of store that will help boost up your business the best.

You may not have the budget of a large corporation, but you’re able to get closer to the people than they’ll ever be able to, and people like to support the local business.
