We have all seen those advertisements of hyips on the internet claiming they could make you up to 600% profit in just a day and most of our e-mail boxes have been spammed with those amazing claims.
The question that creeps up and makes us uneasy is: "Are these programs legit or are they just scams wanting to steal our hard-earned money?"
And eventhough we have pondered this question, a lot of us have lost money on a hyip because although our healthy mind tells us that these returns cannot be reached the hopeful little voice inside our head tells us that it might be possible that we have stumbled upon the opportunity of a lifetime!
The answer then seems to be real clear cut - hyip's are scams. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!!!
Let me explain:
Most hyips trade on forex (foreign exchange). Just to put in perspective how big this financial market is I can tell you that it is bigger than any other stock market in the world. So at least this part of what they tell you is true and the forex market does exist.
If you were a forex trader with a reasonable amount of experience you could make about 2% - 5% per day on forex. If you were really good you might even have some days where you make 10% profit!
If you keep this in mind, your common sense ought to tell you that any programs guaranteeing returns above 4% might be a scam (although common sense seems to not be that common).
How will I know if the HYIP I choose is not a scam?
The easiest way to find out is by clicking here. This will direct you to the MrLazyPig GetRich page. Scroll down this page to the getrich linkbox where you will see a couple of links to make money with. Three of those links are links to very reputable hyips – The one has been going solid for a year now and the other two have been running for about 5 years. I have made tons of money from these hyips, and the links are yours to use and make your own fortune with!
What to watch out for in HYIP’s
A couple of general things should put you on alert as to the harmfull intentions of a hyip:
1) Are they offering guaranteed returns well above 4% per day?
2) Are they using a standardized hyip script? Scroll through a couple of obvious scam hyips (offering about 300% per day!) and check out the frequently asked questions section. You will notice that these hyips’ frequently asked questions are exactly the same, they don’t offer any real advice just general rantings and ravings about investing on your own risk. That’s because these hyip scripts can be bough over the internet for about $10 to $20 and all look the same.
3) How long has the site been running? Real high return hyip’s (about 100% and above) rarely make it longer than a month. Others offering about 10% to 99% can last up to about a year and are probably the most dangerous ones because they look reputable for lasting so long and can steel millions from unsuspecting investors. If the site has been going for well over a year you can start giving it a serious look.
4) Do they respond when you contact them? Submit a ticket or send them an e-mail. The good hyips will go through the trouble of sending you a timeous and proper reply, because they believe in good customer relationships. Most scams don’t take the time to reply to messages as they are too busy planning how they are going to spend all the money they steal.
5) What do the members of the hyip say on their forum and do they even have a forum? The good hyips all have forums where you can chat to other members. Remember these are the people that have already invested on the hyip and have a farely good idea of what is going on with the program. Just read quickly through a couple of posts and you will very quickly get a feel for the sites strong and weak points.
If you follow these general guidelines to hyip investing, you stand a good chance of making lots and lots of money instead of loosing money.
As a last note of warning I would like to add that you should never invest more money on a hyip than you are prepared to loose. I always treat hyips like monopoly games – I take some money that I don’t really need and invest it. If I loose that money (which doesn’t really happen to me anymore thankfully!) it doesn’t bother me and if I get the returns the program offers it feels like I just got a great chistmas bonus!
