The fires in California are getting worse, more serious and more dangerous. According to reports, the fires are triggered by “dry lightning” (like we mentioned in our earlier blog) and are burning more than 500,000 acres. California has exhausted all of their firefighters and are rigorously recruiting volunteer firefighters for some of the small blazes.
The fires are threatening over 4,000 homes and residents are urged to pack it up and affecting over 100,00 people. Authorities say the warm weather and 50 mph winds gusting near Southern California’s Pacific Coast Highway are causing the blazes to grow.
Many of the residents of California are not obeying the orders to evacuate. Just like with Katrina, people care about their properties and they are willing to stay and protect their homeland. I guess when it comes down to it, when tragedy hits home, people really won’t just pick and leave. Even with the so-called riches and elite status they seem to acquire, they are just like southern folks: “Trying to hold onto what you got”.
Now reports say the fires are not just blazing all of Calfornia, but fires have started in Arizona, Colorado and Oregon. It seems as though the whole west coast is being affected by the dry lightning.
What is God saying about this? Well, its not like He doesn’t know. He allows wrath all over this country so it just tells us to pray, treat one another and try and be prepared for tragedies
Its difficult to be prepared for any tragedy even with home insurance with coverage for all types of disasters. But there are many of us who don’t have any security or back up funds to decide to stay or evacuate when tragedy hits. We have to be prepared when anything happens.
