Upstaging Other Homes

There is no two ways about it, when your home is listed on any real estate market is is directly competing with the other homes that are listed in the area. It is up to you as the owner to ensure that your home shows in a way that is beneficial to the sale and takes full advantage of any special assets that your home has. Staging is a greta way to bring out these assets and make sure that your home is in top condition for sale. It may sound shifty but the best way to stage your home is to upstage the competition. Every other home out there has photos listed on the MLS, spend some time going through the local listings and finding out what you are competing with. Once you know that you can try to make your home just that much more impressive.

Staging has become a multi-million dollar industry in this country as every seller wants to have the competitive edge in a high-stakes market. This need has spawned numerous home staging businesses and publications. In fact , home staging has almost become a necessity when selling a home. Home sales are all about proper presentation and a properly staged home definitely presents better than one that is not prepared for sale. There are a few standard practices for home staging, but no matter which one you look at the first element is always the same, cleaning, Nothing in staging is quite as important as making sure that your home has a clean slate on which to show.

Once clean it is time to decide what is necessary for the show and what is not. In all likelihood there is much that any family can dispose of before showing their home. Too many things simply get in a buyer's way when they are morning through the home, Having cluttered home is a sure way to be ignored when you listing hits the local market. Things like an un-attended yard, too many personal items, laundry lying around and overgrown plants and pet odor are all huge concerns. It does not take much to bring a good home into shape for sale. Just remember to compare how your home looks with those that it is competing with and you should have no trouble with the sale.
