Having produced a golfing legend in Bernhard Langer, Germany offers some of the most attractive golf courses in the whole of Europe. Some of the most famous golf courses of the country are Club Zur Vahr course in Bremen and Gut Kaden in Hamburg spread over 200 acres (the golf course hosted the German Open recently).

Golf and sports in Germany is promoted on large scale and there are many other golfing treats in the country. Munich is one favorite golfing location among tourists. The city offers around 45 golf courses to choose from. Another famous golf course is the Klostermannshof course in Niederkassel in the prime location of the Rhineland. Hohen Wieschendorf is also an exciting golf course near the Baltic Sea between Wismar and Lubeck.

Another exciting opportunity for golf lovers is the educational courses that are designed to help golfers learn and improve basic golfing skills. So golf and sports in Germany is not just for professionals or youngsters who may simply want to have a golf round with their friends to pass their time, there are many golf schools offering wide variety of courses to golf lovers. Tourists also explore the different golf courses of Germany as part of their holiday tour and end up seeing more of the country and its natural magnificence.

To play golf in Germany, one has to have a license which is known as Platzerife. The license which costs around $300 is given for a five-day course. The course provides many classes that offer rigorous training to the eager golf lovers. Once you complete this course, you need to go through a battery of tests in order to obtain a permanent license.

Golf in Germany is regulated by the German Golf Association. There are number of courses that are designed just for the tourists. The country organizes golf tournaments throughout the year. There are a large number of national and international golf players who participate in these tournaments.

Golf and sports in Germany is considered as a favorite hobby and one can enjoy visiting Germany a lot more by participating in such sports.
