Selecting a golf putter first time - few tips for beginners.

Few years back when I started playing golf one day I went to downtown to buy my personal equipments set. Inside the store I stood perplexed on seeing a huge collection of must needed equipments. As I was standing puzzled thinking what to buy suddenly as an angel one of veteran golfer of my club came to rescue me and advised me to have a good pair of comfortable shoe and a good set of clubs not a huge variety like a professional but a good driver a range of irons and a putter is sufficient for a beginner.

Though I was advised to buy only one golf putter but putter being the most important one should be very careful to choose a perfect and comfortable one. A simple dissection of a putter brings forward three parts-grip, body and head.

Head is the brain of a putter, most important as it hits the ball and comes in contact to field. Material in the head generally be made from metals, affects the impact of the hit and direction of the ball across the green. Cheap putter’s head made of light metals or plastics requires harder hit in comparison to heavy metals. Therefore, be careful playing with those cheap putters as you need lots of time to understand the application of force in slow and fast fields. A good putter usually is made of stainless steal, brass or other heavy metals. Good wooden putters are also available. To day alloy made head are also very much in demand.

When buying a putter be careful about its lie-angle. This lie-angle determines whether a putter is perfect when it comes in contact with field. If the head is not sitting flat then its lie-angle is incorrect.

A putters grip may vary considerable according to users grip and the shape of hand. Give a try before choose a perfect grip.

Standard length of the body lies between 32-35 inches. Choose one according to your height and your style of stance that is, whether you stand straight or lean forward.

The last but not the least but the most important tip is always try before buying and feel the comfort of the putter, after all you are the ultimate user.
