Savage Arms Still Setting the Standards

The Savage Arms Company was organized in 1894 by Arthur Savage in Utica, New York. A citizen of Jamaica, Arthur led an idealistic life, having been schooled in England and the United States. In his early thirties, he explored the heart of Australia and was incarcerated for a year by Aborigines. Later, he became the proprietor of the biggest cattle farm in Australia.

During World War II, Savage Arms contributed literally millions of firearms to the campaign, converting its factories to provide accommodation for heavy munitions. After the war, Savage had excess capacity and adopted some of its industrialized processes to rotate consumer goods, including the world's first motorized lawnmower.

Today, Savage Arms manufactures a widely recognized range of award winning rimfire and centerfire rifles, as well as promoting the Stevens single-shot rifles and shotguns. Savage was awarded “Manufacturer of the Year” by the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence in 2003. They may be best-known for the Model 99 hammerless lever-action rifle, which is no longer in production, and the very popular .300 Savage sporting cartridge, which was the parent case for the 7.62x51 NATO cartridges.

Savage Arms has also introduced a revolutionary trigger known as the AccuTrigger. The new Savage AccuTrigger is absolutely crisp and creep-free. It is easily user-adjustable from 6.0 to 1.5 pounds. And it is absolutely safe. It won't fire if dropped or bumped at the very lightest setting or even if you throw it from the top of a 20-foot tree stand down onto the ground. Savage is completely confident in this revolutionary trigger that will forever change the way shooters expect triggers to function on store-bought guns.

The Savage Arms Company is also known for the Savage 10FP bolt-action sniper, tactical series rifles. There are seven variants of this Savage Arms rifle; every one designated with an "LE" code symbolizing that it is part of the Law Enforcement Series. All 10FP series rifles are made with the Savage Arms designed, fully adjustable AccuTrigger, matte-blued barreled action, heavy free-floating and button-rifled barrel, oversized bolt handle, 4-round internal box magazine, and three swivel studs for sling and bipod mounting. The Savage Arms LE series of tactical rifles is provided with pre-drilled holes for attachment of a wide variety of scope bases.

Savage Arms is proud of it’s reputation for manufactured revolutionary improvements and has turned into the standard for accuracy in the firearms industry. Their fresh modernization for building firearms is just another example of the high standards Savage Arms is setting.
