Sportsbook Guru

My Favorite Sportsbook Guru ...

Is a 'guru' that makes me money; pure and simple.

And, like hen's teeth and elephant's eyebrows, a good

Sportsbook Guru is hard to find.

I frankly don't know squat about the horses or which

college team - baseball, football or basketball is at

the top of the heap or which professional team is at

their league's number one position.

It's heresy (and certainly not going to get me a big

piece of Mom's favorite apple pie and ice cream to be

admitting all this) but I really don't know much about

the sports businesss.

But there it is; the bottom line - it is a business -

so I confine my interest to which team(s) my favorite

Sportsbook Guru picks for me. And if the team wins -

which lucky for me is over 90% of the time, they are

my favorite team ... for the moment 'cause I put money

on them and won. And that's MY bottom line.

I'm not totally dispassionate about the sports business,

mind you. Although I won't necessairly go out of my way

to watch a playoff or series, if I do happen to catch a

game in progress I will enjoy watching. But I'm not in

front of the TV screen several minutes before game time

with a beer in one hand and hot dog in the other hollaring

'woof' 'woof' or whatever it is I see people do in the

movies or on TV. I still get a kick out of Julia Roberts

doing it in one of her movies, but it's not for me.

I know it's hum-drum or bah humbug of me not to get really

into the 'game' but look at the conflict of interest I am

avoiding. Like. what would happen if my Favorite Sportsbook

Guru suggested I put my money on Oakland but my heart said to

root for San Francisco. Either way I'd lose.

If Oakland won I'd be down in the dumps because my favorite

team, San Francisco lost, and if San Francisco won and my

Favorite Sportsbook guru suggested Oakland and I did not

take him up on that one I'd still be miserable because I

missed out on a money making wager! So forget it!

I think I'll stay Bah Humbug and make money following the

advice of my Favorite Sportsbook guru, who, by the way I

will share with you if you email me: qapple@excite.com.

Just do me one favor will you ... don't tell him about my

confilct of sports interest here; he might tell my shrink!
