NHL Tickets - A Brief History

The National Hockey League or NHL is a specialized hockey association comprising of ice hockey teams in North America. NHL is a premier certified ice hockey league in the world. The association is divided into two groups of fifteen-team. Every team comprises of three five-team divisions. The NHL was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada with six teams. After many additions, deletions and modifications, the league now comprises of around thirty teams among which twenty-four are based in the United States and six are based in Canada. Knowing About The National Hockey League Since the sport got its roots from Canada, a majority of the players are of Canadian origin. In the past few years, the percentage of players belonging to the American and European origin has grown. The reason behind this is the expansion of The National Hockey League into United States. Also after the downfall of communism, the flow of extremely accomplished European players from Eastern Europe has increased. NHL games are immensely popular and thus the high demand of NHL tickets. Every National Hockey League regulation game of ice hockey is played between two teams. The duration of each game is sixty minutes. A single game comprises of three periods of twenty minutes each. There is a break of seventeen minutes between the periods. There is a television break usually after six, ten and fourteen minutes into the game unless there is a goal or a power play. After the end of the stipulated sixty-minute, the winner is declared based on the team having the highest number of goals. If there is a draw between both the teams, then the game goes into overtime. The over time is usually given for five minutes. During this time, the team, which scores a goal, first wins. In the start of the 2005–06, if the game ended in a tie then it must enter a shootout. Three players chosen from every team try their luck at the penalty shot. The team that scores the highest during the shootout time wins. If the team still draws in the shootout stage, the shootout status continues until one team emerges the winner. Whichever team wins at the end is given a goal in the game score and two points in the standings. If we take into consideration the four major leagues in the United States, then the NHL is the only league to have teams that are competent enough to play in the capital cities Ottawa as well as Washington, D.C. the NHL is also proud of the fact that it has more teams of Canadian origin than the NBA and MLB. Both of them have one each whereas, the NHL has six. Ticket brokers can help you get NHL tickets without you having to run from pillar to post looking for NHL tickets. The friendly and competent personnel at NHL are always there to guide you on your ticket requirements. You can call them up and place your requirements.
