Often your partner doesn't know when you are going to climax.
Your partner might think you are "almost there", but you might be "far away" or your partner might think you still have a couple of minutes and you are ready to explode!
It isn't very pleasant getting ready to climax and your partner, thinking that you are still far away, changes position, suddenly slows down, stops etc.
Try the final countdown.
Start from 10 and count down to zero.
That way your partner will know that you are now "only" at "8" or getting ready to climax at say "3".
It is a much easier way than just saying: "I am not ready yet!" or "Oops, sorry I couldn't help it. I just came!"
