Most people have the physical skills to succeed, however a lot don't have sufficient emotional or cognitive skills. When a persons self worth grows their emotional IQ (EQ) and willingness to make serious changes increases as well. Cognitive Restructuring has the ability to go deep. It can assist those who are suffering from these problems: * Phobias * Childhood abuse * Anxiety * Lack of goals * Criminal values * Loneliness * Broken relationships * Lack of hope * Procrastination * Fear * Illness * Decision making * Worry * Self betrayal * Depression * Coping * Hate/vengeance * Stress * Rejection * Self control *Anger * Self esteem * Divorce * Lack of empathy * Suicidal thoughts * Co dependency * Drug addiction *Alcohol addiction * Eating disorders The very first and most important step to take to overcome the above issues and the biggest hurdle to self improvement is self deception. Individuals who live with self-deception are always blaming other people for their many problems. People do not understand that the biggest problem they have in life is the battle with themselves. If you're unhappy and unsuccessful Are you the one to blame? Below are six steps that are a must for self-improvement. There are no shortcuts and the steps must be accomplished in order. The most effective tool to help people leave the old damaging behaviors is Manualized Cognitive Restructuring . This is capable of helping people conquer faulty thinking and behaviors. One of the main psychological differences between humans and animals is that humans are capable of being self aware. That is to say, they know how to step back from themselves, see and accept their faults and weaknesses. With self awareness humans have the ability to become better and change their lives. Improving habits, thoughts, values and behavior isn't easy. For example, if you wish to transform a hard-core criminal into a good citizen the change must come from within. Criminals would have to admit that they are responsible for their actions. If they continue to live in denial they can never change. To successfully help criminals, you must first make them self-aware. This making them aware" process is called reality therapy. You cant compel criminals to change but you can compel them to become self-aware. Self-awareness is the first step in changing criminal offenders into good citizens. Abide by these steps to make a complete change in your life. There are no shortcuts. Step #1- AWARENESS Self-awareness is the initial step in becoming a better person. You have to accept your faults. You cannot change without becoming self-aware. Step #2- DESIRE If you dont wish to change, you wont. You have free will and, therefore, cannot be forced. It is completely up to you; it is your choice. No desire,no change. Step #3- ATTITUDE If you're aware that you have faults and wish to become better you will subconciously elevate your attitude. Again, it's your choice. Step #4- SKILL Self-awareness, desire and a good attitude are not quite enough; developing the skills and knowledge of how to change is also imperative. Step #5- BEHAVIOR Perfect steps one through four and you're prepared physically to do what is required. Follow them for 90 days and it will be a habit. Follow them for one year and they'll become part of you. Step #6- SUBCONCIOUS As soon as you form a habit, it becomes automatic. You dont even have to think about it anymore; you have changed. Great! If you keep on doing what you have been doing, you will keep on getting what you have been getting. If you want to change what you have been getting, you have to change what you have been doing. The primary step in changing what you are is to defeat denial, bad scripting and faulty thinking The only way to achieve this is through following the above 6 steps.
